This is absolutely my favorite local lunch place near my office!! The staff and owners are always accommodating and extremely friendly! The building is very unassuming and humble. Don't let the humbleness fool you.... the taste, freshness and flavor of their food is always spot on!!! The inside is very clean and well-maintained. Most of the locals come here daily for lunch. The owners speak to many customers on a first name basis. I love their sandwiches one of my favorite is the classic Italian. The sandwich is huge and it comes with a homemade side of potato salad. For girls or lighter eaters the sandwich would be enough for two people. Another favorite of mine is the Mediterranean salad with grilled chicken added. They grill the chicken fresh to order and make all of their salad dressings in house. Now let me tell you about their soup selection! They usually have at least for soup options on a daily basis and every single one is homemade daily. I love their mushroom barley soup, sweet potato/apple chipotle soup, chicken tortilla soup, Italian wedding soup and mulligatawny soup. The soup selection changes on a daily basis but usually you cannot go wrong with any of them as long as you enjoy the ingredients listed for the soup your choosing. All in all I highly recommend you try this small unassuming place! I do not think you will be disappointed!

I really wanted to like this place, but I just found mold on the bread of my sandwich, and I really didn't find the soup and sandwich that tasty. Maybe it was just a fluke, and I would try again if it weren't for the mold. I can't go back after finding mold half way through a sandwich. Ick!

Took my mom to lunch here on a Friday. We each took advantage of the 1/2 sandwich and cup-of-soup deal, which is a great value. Their house soup is, of course, the yankee bean, which my mom had. I tried it and it is very flavorful. I tried the Italian sausage & spinach soup that was one of the soups of the day. It was wonderful as well. Very rich. Both soups had a great marriage of flavors -- you can tell they really know what they're doing. Sandwiches were well-prepared, as well, with top-shelf ingredients. This is that kind of place where after you grab your lunch you have that "good full" kind of feeling from eating good quality food. And the prices are reasonable enough to avoid the chains. They sell quarts of their soups to go. They also are now selling their own bottles of their signature hot sauce -- as fresh as everything else, as well. All staff is extremely friendly. For dessert the day I was there they had rum raisin bread pudding. With home-made whip cream on top -- nice!

Took mom to the Yankee Bean. I've seen it, but never ventured into the small space, so I thought that we should. The place is TINY. 4 or 5 tables, a TV and a counter. You sit down and the waitress comes over, she covered the specials and let us peruse the menu. When we did order, I ordered the Taco bean (I think that's what they were calling it) soup - which was basically a chili, and tasty, if bland. Both mom and I ordered the Mediteranian Wrap. Both of us found it tasty, but for two of us, with 2 wraps, 2 sodas and one bowl of soup, it ran $30.

Just finished a curry chicken salad sandwich and a cup of their signature white bean soup. Delicious! The soup was the real star - so good! Although next time I think I can do with the half sandwich soup combo - the whole sandwiches are big. I got takeout, but they do have six tables inside and a waitress. All three employees who passed me said hi, very friendly.

They are an independantly owned & opereated Mom & Pop sandwich shop with the freshest food at very reasonable prices. The interior is nothing special but it is extremely clean! The soup is prepared daily & sandwiches & salads are while you wait. They have daily specials as well. The loaded baked potatoe soup is the best I have ever had and the turkey panini is to die for. They also serve homemade desserts. The rice pudding is just like Yiayia use to make! The next timeyou are in Tarpon you realy should go in and give it a try for yourself, it is worth the trip! I'm not sure but it must be merely an oversight, that I haven't reviewed this yet (others either.) This is my favorite Friday lunch spot! It is a little luncheon, if you don't look for it or know it's there you would miss it. I'm certainly glad I haven't! For the last, I'm thinking 4-5 years, I've frequented Yankee Bean almost weekly. They serve a full range of boars head meat sandwiches, along with a full menu of other salads and sandwiches. All of the ingredients are fresh, and oh the home made soups, mmm-yummm! I've never had a bad soup here, I'm allergic to pork so I can't attest to the house Yankee bean personally but I hear it is good enough to come back for, however I can attest to other soups, from the chicken orzo to the cream of mushroom, I've yet to be disappointed. I favor the egg salad, it is simple with no added crunchy things to take over the texture and flavor of the egg salad served on pumpernickel toast, add to that the touch of avocado (it comes with bacon too, but as I previously mentioned no swine ingesting here.) I also recommend the hummus wrap and the curry chicken salad (a touch of curry and golden raisins it's genius.) Don't forget to try the home made hot sauce and buy extra potato salad as you are going to want more than the morsel served on the side, b/c it is just so vinegary and delicious. The only thing that I've been missing the last few times are the home made pickles, I'm guessing he couldn't meet the demand or maybe the cucumber crop wasn't to par, but they make my mouth water just typing this. The restaurant is only open Mon-Fri 11am til 3pm, they are family owned and operated and you will never catch them on a bad day, which of course means the service is always spectacular. If you live, work, or just happen to be visiting the Tarpon Springs area during the week this is definitely the place to stop for lunch!
